I was born and raised in Deming. I attended Chaparral Elementary as a child, 1st grade through 6th grade. I graduated from Deming High School. I got married and had two amazing children before I decided to go to college and get my teaching degree. I graduated from WNMU in 2003 and began my teaching career in May of the same year. I went on to get my Master of Arts in Elementary Education, Curriculum and Instruction at NMSU. I taught for 19 years before I was fortunate enough to become principal of Chaparral Elementary in 2022.
